SmartPhone

Thanks to Alec, I now have a MPx200 SmartPhone. The kicker was that I had to get it unlocked, because the MPx200 was originally made for AT&T, and I use T-Mobile. Unlocking it would have cost about $40, but thanks to a few hours of research, I was able to unlock it myself. Now I can use the $40 saved and buy an SD card and use the phone how it was meant to be used! w00t! Thanks Alec!

Back to MS Messenger

So after another try with a different IM client, Miranda, I have made the switch back to MS Messenger. Now that Yahoo! is going to be supported, I really have no reason to use anything else. The nice thing though, is that I now have a very clean interface free of all the crap that Microsoft adds. I did some searching on the internet, and spent yesterday editing the .exe file. My DIY Messenger does not have the search bar, banner ad, add contacts button, my MSN space button, and the MSN Today button. It's pretty.

End of the dollar store

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to shop in Japan, look no further than Alderwood Mall's Daiso. The equivalent of a dollar store, Daiso is complete with Japanese employees, product packaging, and customers. With quality items in three price catagories: $1.00, $1.50, and $2.00, this store is a winner. You don't know how relieved I am to not have to bring suitcases of this stuff back from Japan every year!

As a bonus, if you buy any glasses, plates, or other fragile items, you even have the chance of getting some free pr0n. On grand opening day, they were wrapping items in "Sports" newspapers, which are geared for the Japanese businessman with news information including business, finance, sports, gambling, and sex! I was a little surpised to see the newspaper with a naked Japanese girl posing on the counter... I'll keep watching the local news for complaints.

No power

About 5 minutes after we returned home, the power in our whole apartment complex went out. The first thing I heard from someone out on her balcony was, "Damn it, I was right in the middle of Gray's Anatomy, I should have TiVo'd it!" I laughed. Not that I watch Gray's Anatomy, but at times like this it is really nice that there is bit torrent.

Consequently, the power came back on at 12am. I sucked having to wake up and turn off the lights.
